PART I // LIFE LESSONS

Recently I told someone how I feel that I have lived 2 lives.

As a child you have no influence on the choices your environment makes, but those choices do determine our later life course.At a young age, due to the divorce of my parents, I lost the bond with my father. If there was... Years later, everything that had happened then returned like a boomerang in my face.  A combination of an identity crisis, daddy issues and extreme anger made me unmanageable. I started walking down the street, doing things I shouldn't, and was shown the door everywhere.

At the age of 17 I made the decision to do things differently and started making conscious choices that have brought me to where I am today.  Difficult young people do not exist. Young people in difficult situations do!

PART II // ENTERPRISE
The system maps out a path from school to the labor market. But what if the regular job market, for one reason or another, is not suitable for you? Been there done that! Worked in the catering industry, factories, cleaned, did administration,... but eventually became an entrepreneur. "You're not going to get there like this" was always just the answer if I didn't do what they expected of me.  And that is precisely the reason why I am where I am. Follow my own path and do the opposite of what society expects of me. Entrepreneurship is a top alternative to take your life into your own hands.  But don't be fooled, it's a path that many try to follow but few succeed. Do YOU got what it takes?

Say again. Who are you again?  

Hadisa, born in Ghent in 1989 to a Ghanaian father and a Belgian mother. As a teenager I had a hard time finding my way and perhaps that's why many thought I wouldn't make it in this life.  Guess what, I did ;)

My dream, which many believed was unattainable, has become reality. I believe that wherever you come from, whatever name you bear, whatever orientation or religion you have; dreaming is for everyone! In 2016 I founded Estate Of Mind Real estate agents, the real estate office that distinguishes itself through the love for what we do. Everything I undertake in this life I do with passion, enthusiasm and most importantly with all my heart.

BECOMING is the first event where no subject is safe. The evening revolves around breaking glass ceilings, daring to name things how they are and discussing difficult subjects, but always with a touch of humor.
